Under the social forestry program implemented by forest department, about 84,378 hectare and 68,830 kilometer plantation have been created. In addition, during the last 4 years, under the Climate Change Trust Fund 2955 hectares of long-term, short-term and non-mangrove plantation and 2664 km of strip plantation have been established. About 6 lakh 52 thousands 955 beneficiaries are involved in the plantation created, among which the number of female beneficiaries is 1 lakh 21thousands 507. From 2002 to 2015-16, 10 crore 15 lakh 40 thousand saplings have been sold and distributed for the purpose of extensive forestry all through the country.
From beginning to 2016-17, under the social forestry in Bangladesh, 34,744 hectare and 14,553 kilometer plantation have been felled. 916 crore 26 lakhs 16 thousand 4 hundred 26 taka were earned by selling wood, fuel wood and poles . The amount of 285 crore 68 lakh 77 thousand 968 taka profit has been distributed among 1 lakh 51 thousand 915 beneficiaries. 91 crore 20 lakhs 74 thousand 3 hundred 36 taka has been deposited as TFF. So far, the government revenue has been deposited 331 crore 8 lakhs 79 thousand 2 hundred 56 taka by social forestry.
