Addl IGP Rowshan Ara killed in Congoa road crash

Additional Inspector General of Police Rowshan Ara Begum, ppm, ndc, has been killed in a road crash on a United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The driver and two other passengers, including Superintendent of Police Farzana, were reported to remain safe.
The incident took place in capital Kinshasa, around 6:30pm (Congo local time) on Sunday.
The additional IGP was on her way to attend a Medal Parade of the BANFPU, when her vehicle collided with a civil truck, leaving Rowshan Ara dead on the spot, said a source in the police headquarters.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have condoled the death of Rowshan Ara Begum.
In a message of condolence, the President prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
In a similar condolence message, the Prime Minister, who is now in London, also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
