Narsingdi is a district in central area of Bangladesh. It is located 50 km north-east of capital city of Bangladesh. The district is famous for its textile craft industry.
Narsingdi is a densely industrial area and is home to many textile mills. Narsingdi is riched by several number of jute mills, which plays an important rule in economy. The biggest and renowned Haat (Textile market) of Bangladesh is located here at Madhabdi which is known as Shekherchaur Babur Haat. There are two urea fertilizer industries in palash and ghorashal. Narsingdi has 3923 mosques, 52 temples, nine Buddhist temples and three churches. The communication system of this district is very good. The Dhaka-Sylhet highway one of the important highways of Bangladesh passes through Narsingdi. Inter-district road communication is also better from here.
