Mustafizur Rahman (born 6 September 1995) is a Bangladeshi left-arm medium fast bowler in cricket. He has taken most number of wickets (13) in his debut ODI series . He is the only player to win the ‘Man of the Match’ award on both Test as well as One Day International debuts.

Debut in several type of cricket: Rahman made his Twenty20 International cricket debut on 24 April 2015 against the Pakistan national cricket team. He made his One Day International debut against India on 18 June 2015 and took five wickets in the match. Mustafizur made his Test debut against South Africa on 21 July 2015.

Early life and Domestic career
Mustafizur Rahman grew up in the small town of Shatkhira in Khulna, Bangladesh. In 2012, Rahman came to Dhaka to try out for a fast-bowlers camp, after he had impressed in an Under-17 tournament in his hometown Satkhira. He was admitted to the BCB’s pace foundation and soon caught the coaches’ attention to make the Bangladesh Under-19 side for the 2014 World Cup. He came from a rural area where there were no facilities for playing cricket.

Mustafizur made his first-class debut for Khulna on 19 April 2014 in the 2013-14 season and after taking eight wickets in the U-19 World Cup in UAE, he was surprisingly picked for Bangladesh A’s tour of West Indies. Returning from that short trip, he was viewed as a better bowler and slowly picked up more variations. He initially lacked pace, but built it up through the 2014-15 first-class season, when he took 26 wickets at an average of 19.08.

In his domestic career so far, he has played for Abahani Limited, Bangladesh national under-19 cricket team, Khulna Division, and South Zone.

In the 2015-16 Bangladesh Premier League, Mustafizur has been playing for Dhaka Dynamites.

International career
Mustafizur began his international career with T20 debut against Pakistan on 24 April 2015 where he bowled and took the wickets of veteran Pakistan pair Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez at an average of 5.00.

Later that year, in June, India toured Bangladesh for one Test and three ODIs. Rahman was picked in the ODI squad and he made his One Day International debut on 18 June 2015. Rahman gave the signs of his potential against the strong Indian batting line-up by taking a five-wicket haul off just 9.2 overs in the first match. Bangladesh won the match and Rahman became the 10th bowler in the ODI history to take five wickets on début.

In the 2nd ODI against India held on 21 June 2015, Rahman took another five-wicket haul, including the wickets of Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. Figures of 5-50 on début were followed by 6-43 in his second match, earning him the record of most wickets of any bowler after two ODIs, surpassing the record of Brian Vitori. In his 3rd ODI against India, he took 2 wickets and made history by taking 13 wickets in a 3-match ODI series.

Against South Africa,he took 5 wickets in the 3 ODI to help Bangladesh to a series win against the proteas.

=> Mustafizur Rahman became the 10th bowler to take a five-wicket haul on ODI debut.
=> Rahman became the 2nd bowler to take two consecutive five-wicket hauls in his first two ODIs.
=> Rahman is the only bowler to take 11 wickets in his first two ODIs.
=> Rahman became the 4th cricketer to receive two Man of the Match awards in his first two ODIs.
=> Rahman is the only bowler to take 13 wickets in his first three ODIs and the only bowler to take 13 wickets in a three-match bilateral ODI series.
=> First player to win the ‘Man of the Match’ award on both Test as well as One Day International debuts.
=> Mustafiz was included in the ICC team of the year 2015.
