The list of popular Dhallywood actor Mahiya Mahi’s heroes is quite rich as it is crammed with the exuberant names– Bappy, Saimon Sadik, Shakib Khan, Arifin Shuvoo, Riaz, Ankush Hazra, and Om Shahani etc.

However, breaking the preceding formats of male-dominated characters and established heroes, Mahi this time has concentrated on the stories based on heroine.

On April 28, Mahi signed a film titled ‘Obotar’ where she will be seen against Rusho, a new face in Dhallywood.

Directed by Mahmud Hasan Shikder, ‘Obotar’ will also star celebrated actor Misha Sowdagor and noted director Kazi Hayat among others.

Hasan told Banglanews that story of ‘Obotar’ revolves around a fearless girl who protests the anomalies of society, surpassing the illusions of life.

However, the director himself wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues for ‘Obotar’.

Earlier, Mahi acted against newcomer Rokon Uddin in AK Sohel’s ‘Pobitro Bhalobasa’.
