Dhepa River

Dhepa River an offshoot of the Karatoya-Atrai (Buri Tista) river. The river originated from the right-bank of the atrai near Mohanpur (25°53’N latitude, 88°43’E longitude) in the greater dinajpur district and flowed southeast direction. Then it turned south near Setabganj, Bochaganj and after following a meander course up to Poi-Chak (25°38’N latitude and 88°37’E longitude) the river debouches into the punarbhaba. The total length of the river is about 40 km and navigable throughout the year for local boats. The Dhepa is totally free from tidal influence.
