82.20 pc pass SCC exams, GPA 5 rate declines


A total of 82.20 percent students have come out successful in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations under 10 education boards.

The pass rate was 77.77% last year.

Chairmen of the education boards handed over the results to Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni at the International Mother Language Institute this morning.

Later, the minister announced the results at a media briefing there.

A total 1, 05,594 students secured highest grade GPA-5 in the examinations — 4.96% of the total students who sat for the exams this year.

Last year, 110,629 of the test takers, got a GPA 5 last year, according to data unveiled by the minister.

The results will be published at 2:00 pm simultaneously at the educational institutions of the country. The results will be available on the Education Ministry website and through mobile SMS.

This year a total of 21, 35,333 students – 10, 64, 892 girls and 10, 70, 441 boys- appeared at the SSC and equivalent examinations under the country’s 10 education boards.
